A woman has been shot dead inside the Capitol by a member of law enforcement. What led to the shooting isn’t exactly clear. Videos of the shooting are circulating but still does not provide a clear indication as to what led to the shooting. However, a photo shows law enforcement with guns drawn inside the locked-down Chamber.

The victim has been identified as Ashli Babbit, of San Diego.  Her mother-in-law has stated that Babbit was a 14-year veteran among the Air Force. The shooting took place after rioters broke through barricades. Prior to the forceful entry, Senators came to the conclusion to reject the challenge to President-elect Joe Biden’s win in Arizona. This decision solidified Joe Biden’s results causing Trump Supporters to rally into a frenzy.

The Aftermath Still Unfolds

As of right now, the current events at the capitol is still growing.  Tweets have been documenting the results in real-time.

“Electoral college ballots rescued from the Senate floor. If our capable floor staff hadn’t grabbed them, they would have been burned by the mob.”

In addition, it’s also noticeable that many Twitter users are not too happy with the results of the riot. Tweets from what seems like once Trump supports now vocalize their disappointment with the previous president. Black Twitter has been using our notorious humor to help soothe the ‘traumatic’ events also.

Another black Twitter user tweets:

Black Twitter: Sitting back watching this chaos unfold

White Twitter:

As the events continue to take place, I will definitely be reporting them. In the meantime, I’m hoping everyone stays safe.
