As if the three outfit changes for Aretha Franklin’s viewing service was not grand enough, the funeral is set to have some of the country’s most notable figures. Oprah Winfrey, Tyler Perry, Whoopi Goldberg, President Bill Clinton and more are all in attendance of the Queen of Soul’s home going.
The man responsible for Franklin’s burial service, Bishop Charles H. Ellis III disclosed to us he’s very much aware that the Queen of Soul will be having a ritzy gathering amid Friday’s memorial service. However, he wants her fans to know that it will not be a concert.
Bishop Ellis intends to praise her life in a conscious, virtuous way. All things considered, Aretha grew up musically and profoundly in her dad’s Baptist church. and keeping in mind that although artist such as Jennifer Hudson, Stevie Wonder, and Ariana Grande will perform amid the funeral, Ellis says it won’t be a show. He plans to take it to the chapel. Chileeeee!
The funeral begins at 10 AM ET. However, you can view Aretha Franklin’s live memorial in Detroit which just kicked off today at 6pm. This memorial of live music dubbed “A People’s Tribute to the Queen,” is set to honor the Queen of Soul at the Chene Park Amphitheatre.
23 acts are slated to perform including the Four Tops, Johnny Gill, Ron Isley and lots of others.
