Kanye West Finally Apologizes for 'Slavery Was a Choice' Comment

Kanye West doesn’t regularly do interviews, however when he does, he says what the f–k he wants. The Chicago MC stopped by a local radio station, WGCI, today (Aug. 29) and discussed various topics, and finally apologized for his slavery comment. He also called Drake insensitive.

“When we was talking about the Drake thing, it hits me in a really sensitive place ’cause people hang around your family and be in your house and then they get mad about a beat and send purple demon emojis,” he begins. Ye proceeds to talk about the notorious beef between Pusha-T and Drizzy, and insists he had no parts in what happened.

“It ain’t no beef. Ain’t nobody got no beef. Nobody going to jail. I’m not calling nobody to do nothing,” he continues. “I don’t do that. I make beats, I’m here for a reason. The universe is on my side.”

“We all got love for Drake. We understand he was upset about it, and I felt it was insensitive of him to stress me out in any way after TMZ while I’m in Wyoming, healing, pulling all pieces together,” he continued.

Furthermore, Yeezy proceeds to examine the far reaching feedback he got in the wake of wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat and declaring his admiration for President Donald Trump and apologized for his slavery comments.

“When I hear anything about an entire powerful group of people being held captive for 400 years, it sounds like a choice to the spirit of Kanye West, which I think is aligned with the spirit of Harriet Tubman,” he says.

“I want to take this moment right now to say I’m sorry for the one-two effect of the MAGA hat into the slave comment,” he continues. “I’m sorry to people who felt let down by that moment. And also I appreciate you guys giving me the opportunity to talk to you about the way I was thinking and what I was going through. I just appreciate you guys holding on to me as a family. And one thing I got from the TMZ comment—I learned how much Black people love me.”

Kanye notably got to a great degree passionate at one point and even teared up when discussing his companion Don C. “I trust the ruin of Kanye West is specifically identified with Don C not being near,” he says before pausing for a minute to gather himself. “He’s entirely town at the present time, since I disclosed to him I require him to be there for me so poop like this don’t transpire.”
