Remember back in 2012 when Will Smith slapped Vitalli Sediuk, a red carpet correspondent for trying to kiss him on the lips? It was during the premiere of Men In Black 3 in Moscow. Smith sat down with Tidal’s Rap Radar and discussed the phone call he received from JAY-Z regarding the fiasco.
“I get back [from the premiere] and I’m pissed that somebody thinks because you’re famous, they get to do whatever they want to do to you. So I’m in my room and I had ten urgent messages from Jay-Z. He’s like ‘Call me now’ with exclamation points and I’m like, ‘Yo. Jay do’t do that.’ So i call him and say, ‘What’s up?’ He sounds winded.”
Smith recalls the conversation while impersonating Jay-Z trying to talk as him and his wife, Beyonce are still in laughter, “I just saw the video of you slapping the dude in Russia. I just want you to know you’ll never make a better piece of entertainment. It’s the funniest thing I’ve seen.”
When the two discussed the incident after, Hov emphasized that it was nice “to see you just be authentic,” when speaking to Smith.
