Doja Cat has been the talk of the town with all of her recent fashion choices. In an interview with Vogue, she discusses “Pushing Boundaries.”
Rapper and singer Doja Cat, 27, has been stepping into her fashion-girl era for the past two years, and recently at this year’s Paris Fashion Week, she turned quite a few heads with her extravagant looks.
Doja stepped out at the Schiaparelli spring 2023 couture show in vermillion jewels and wearing a matching Schiaparelli strapless dress and boots. “I’m glad it got the attention it did because everyone involved worked so hard to make it work,” Doja told Vogue.
She was coated in 30,000 Swarovski red crystals done by beauty mogul Pat McGrath’s glam team. The look took hours.
“Couture week is all about experimentation and pushing boundaries,” the “Woman” singer says, and boundaries were pushed indeed.
In another look at Viktor & Rolf, Doja flaunted an oversized striped brown pants suit with blue shades. She stepped outside the box and wore her false eyelashes in an unconventional way. She wore them as a beard and goatee instead of on her eyes. “They wanted lashes, so I gave them lashes,” she said. Fans online were expressing their feelings about how her red look would have looked nicer had she worn eyelashes.
Doja’s right-hand stylist, Brett Alan Nelson, was willing to take fashion risks with the artist to get the perfect and avant-garde looks. “We share a magical synergy where we both understand each other fully, and are both willing to take risks and try new things,” he said.
