It has been 3 1/2 years since Atlanta’s season 2 ended. The FX show debuted in 2016 with 10 episodes before a second season was released two years later. Fans have been waiting since 2018 for the release of a third season. Over the weekend Donald Glover just dropped a surprise new trailer for the long-awaited new episodes “Happy Halloween,” Glover tweeted, alongside a link to Gilga.com. While fans shared their excitement about the show’s returning. Glover had a few things to say he tweeted on Twitter, which has now been deleted where he responded to the comparisons of Atlanta and Lil Dicky’s Dave. He added “And just for the record, im watching yall saying ‘dave’ is on par,” he wrote. “like yall forgot what we did. no disrespect. ”Donald Glover added, “We got black people on here debating which is better, and IM the sellout .

Since Lil Dicky’s FX series Dave premiered last year, it got comparisons to Donald Glover’s show Atlanta. Both shows are made by rapper/comedians, they’re both about what it’s like to be a rapper, and they both air on FX. The two were also paired together in headlines last year when Dave passed Atlanta to become FX’s most-watched comedy series ever.

In a New York Times interview last summer, Dicky stated that the two shows aren’t that similar: “I’m a big admirer of that show, I think it’s a terrific show.” They seem to be completely different shows.” “That’s ridiculous,” Dicky answered when the interviewer said, “I can’t think of two more comparable shows.” When I hear that, I am not irritated; rather, I am complimented.” “I think they’re extremely different,” he continued. I believe our show is attempting to be humorous, as evidenced by the increased number of jokes. It’s all about the tonal brilliance for them. I think of them as separate shows.”

Donald Glover’s Atlanta is scheduled to return in 2022. View the teaser for its third season below.
